Manus announced the Manus 2.0 update on its official website and social platforms. The company described this upgrade as merging currently popular AI scenarios and features into an "all-in-one AI suite," rather than a simple iteration.[5]
According to Manus's categorization, the 2.0 update is divided into three major categories: a new Agent framework and runtime environment; Manus Studio, upgraded from the desktop version; and Cue, a standalone new app.[5]
On the runtime environment side, Manus 2.0 has switched to Cascade, the latest generation of its self-developed Agent framework. The company says this framework can reduce task Token consumption by 23.2%, shorten task completion time by 28.2%, and lower operating costs by 32%. Its approach is to keep projects as lightweight as possible at the start and then bring in the corresponding specialized capabilities when tasks truly need them; within the same project, briefs, webpages, videos, and automated workflows are interconnected with one another.[5]
Manus 2.0 also offers a cloud computer option. Multiplayer online games need a server that remains online even after the user shuts down their computer, and automated workflows also need to run around the clock. These needs exceed what a personal computer can handle. Users can now purchase a cloud computer directly from Manus to provide a dedicated runtime environment for such projects.[5]
Automation capabilities have also been upgraded. The original scheduled tasks can now be triggered by things happening in connected services, such as receiving a new email, fluctuations in advertising data, a new event appearing on the calendar, a message arriving in Slack, or an update to a Notion page. Users only need to state in one sentence what to watch and what to do next, and Manus will build the entire workflow and run it.[5]
The most closely watched part of this update is the personal Agent app Cue. Cue supports mobile and desktop and shares the same infrastructure as Manus. The company says Manus Studio is a workspace shared by humans and AI, with the tagline "From completing tasks to creating good work."[5]
In addition, Manus said on its official WeChat account that it is assembling a team to develop products for the domestic market, cooperation with domestic model vendors and ecosystem partners is progressing steadily, and it will share more updates later.[5]
